Practice & Experience
Yoga
I started practicing hatha yoga in the US in 2001 when a back injury got the better of me. Moving on to more demanding hot vinyasa and Bikram classes as I progressed in my practice. I soon realized the benefits of a good practice not just for rehabilitation but to strengthen and protect against future injury, as well as the improvements to mood and overall mental health.
By 2008 my practice had got a little stale. I had been travelling a lot and I was feeling a little too reliant on others, I missed a sense of ownership of my practice. I soon found myself in a friends Ashtanga vinyasa class and was hooked from the first class. It all made sense, the encouragement to understand your practice and the tools to take with you regardless of the setting was inspiring.
In 2011 at the slight behest of my teacher, and requests from others, I began to teach ashatnga vinyasa classes.
I completed my 200hr RYT with Yogi Kamal Singh, Sunil Sharma Ji, Yogi Upendra Ji, Yogini Priya, and Yogi Himanshu Ji at Tattvva yoga in beautiful Rishikesh, on the banks of the river Ganges, at the base of the Himalayas in India, and am eternally grateful for their teachings and encouragement.
I have practiced and completed many adjustment workshops and teacher trainings including
-Manju Jois (40hrs)
-David Swenson (40hrs)
-Kino Mcgregor, Tim Miller, to name a few

Acupuncture
I completed my BSc (Hons) in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture through Wrexham Glyndwr University. I have been trained in 8 principal diagnostic methods and 5 Element theory. Covering acupuncture, moxabustion, cupping, tui na massage, musculoskeletal intervention, taping, nutrition, and anatomy & Physiology. I specialize in musculoskeletal ailments and symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and mood imbalances. I often also aid with headaches/migraines, fertility, smoking cessation and a host of other disorders. As with my Yoga teachings I claim no abilities to "cure" any disease or disorder but rather help mitigate related symptoms and identify primary causative factors so that the patient/student can find and bring balance into their life.
Although giving the utmost reverence to empirical texts and knowledge, I attempt to keep treatments relevant and give western understanding wherever possible. In my practice of acupuncture and yoga I try to stay true to the required outcomes. Where possible I try to understand the western scientific model as it relates to both practices, in part so that the patient/student may have a better understanding and confidence in the treatment, but also to drive a more evidence based approach to treatment.
